At its meeting of May 9, 1994, the Academic Senate approved the following Policy Recommendation presented by Cecilia Mullen for the Organization and Government Committee.

FACULTY REPRESENTATION

 

A. Resolved, that By-Law 1.2 be amended to read as follows:

1.2 Pursuant to Article II, section 3, of the Constitution, the following staff positions are declared to be directly related to the instructional program, and full-time employees serving in these positions (excluding full-time administrators) are qualified to vote as members of the faculty and are eligible as faculty representatives.

1.2.1 Professional librarians.

1.2.2 Counselors and all professional staff in Student Services or Undergraduate Studies classified as Student Services Professional III or IV or Student Services Professional, Academic Related I, II, or III.

1.2.3 Professional staff of the Instructional Resources Center.

1.2.4 Intercollegiate Athletics: Staff (excluding volunteers) classified as Head Coaches, Coaches, Coaching Specialists and Coaching Assistants.

1.2.5 As used in this By-Law, "professional" excludes clerical and technician classifications.

1.2.6 For purposes of this By-Law, full time administrative positions are those covered by the Management Personnel Plan.

1.2.7 Subject to approval of the Executive Committee, the Election Committee is authorized to decide questions of interpretation of this By-Law and may recommend amendments to it to the Organization and Government Committee.

B. Resolved, further, that By-Law 1.7.b be amended by addition of sub-section 5), as follows:

5) Appointment to a full-time administrative (Management Personnel Plan) position.

 

 

ACTION BY THE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT:
