SCHEDULING OF REGISTRATION AND PRIORITY REGISTRATION POLICY

S 97-1

Replaces: S 92-6 and S 90-11

Whereas, Previous "policies" on priority registration at San Jose State University contain only lists of groups awarded priority status and no rationale; and

Whereas, Currently, new groups wishing to be given priority registration must apply to the Instruction and Student Affairs Committee which, if it seeks to grant priority status, must then place a new policy before the Academic Senate; and

Whereas, The present situation of achieving priority registration is both cumbersome and time consuming; and

Whereas, Priority Registration needs to be implemented within the general Scheduling of Registration which itself needs minor amendment; therefore be it

Resolved, That the attached document entitled "Scheduling of Registration and Priority Registration" be adopted as policy, effective Fall, 1997.
