Student Awards & Scholarships  Students should check with their major department for scholarships and other awards, most of which are presented at the departmental level.  However,several scholarships are presented by the College. 

The College research Committee also selects one of the theses forwarded by the departments for consideration in San José State University's annual outstanding thesis competition.

Grants

Several types of small grants are available each year. Students and staff members are encouraged to apply for Lottery Grants. Students may also apply for College of Social Sciences Research Grants if they are sponsored by an eligible faculty member. For more information on Grants, visit For Faculty
