Curricular proposals from departments are forwarded to the College Office for review following approval by the department curriculum committee and chair. Please note that most commonly used curriculum forms are now available online. More information about Curriculum forms.
Minor changes are reviewed by the Dean or Associate Dean and forwarded to the Office of Curriculum and Assessment. Most commonly, these are changes of course number, title, or description.
Major changes must be reviewed by the College Curriculum Committee. The most common of these are proposals to create new courses, including experimental courses, but the Curriculum Committee must also approve proposals to change or create new degree programs, concentrations within programs, minors, departmental honors programs and the like. All materials to be considered by the committee must be submitted to the College Office at least ten (10) days prior to the monthly meetings. Submit the original proposal electronically to Jan.English-Lueck@sjsu.edu. Refer to the Curriculum Committee Calendar for meeting dates and deadlines. |
