The Meritorious Service Award honors distinguished service on Department, College, and University elected bodies by a member of the College of Social Sciences faculty.  The annual award recognizes effective leadership in advancing the interests of faculty in the College of Social Sciences and the University in general.

College of Social Sciences Department Chairs nominate candidates for the award.  The selectee is then chosen by secret ballot of the College Chairs [Policy Committee].
