The College of Social Sciences administers two undergraduate degree programs which prepare future teachers for entry into either elementary (multiple subjects) or secondary (single subject) teacher credential programs by satisfying the requirements of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). Students who already possess a bachelor's degree should contact the director of Social Science Education and request a transcript review to determine which courses and/or examinations will be required to demonstrate subject matter competency. A fee is charged for this service unless the student is currently enrolled at San José State University.
