Hello everyone!
Thanks to all of you who have put so much effort into student leadership, advocacy, and support. The SWGSA and I appreciate all you have done. We will have an opportunity to discuss transition of SWGSA leadership from the 2007 graduating class to those of you returning to the MSW Program next year. This discussion is open to all and will be part of the next SWGSA meeting on Monday May 14th at 12:00 noon in the Social Work office. We will also schedule follow-up meetings after we have a better idea of who the new leadership will be. If you have comments, suggestions, or would like to volunteer to help in the future, but cannot attend this particular meeting, please contact me at plee4@email.sjsu.edu
Thank You!

Hello everyone!
I hope that your semester was a successful one and that you are looking forward to summer!
The Fall 2007 incoming students are having their orientation the week of August 13th. The SWGSA will be helping me plan this orientation and we need your help!! Their orientation will be patterned a bit after the one you had last year, and we hope to incorporate some improvements. We need volunteers to assist us with this planning and preparation. You do not have to participate in the SWGSA or be a member to help with orientation. STUDENTS AND ALUMNI, please consider volunteering your time. If interested, please contact me at plee4@email.sjsu.edu.
Thank You!

Hi all,
Congratulations, we are approaching the end of the academic year! You have all worked so very hard, and the School and I hope you have gained valuable educational experiences and professional training with us. You will have the formal opportunity to provide feedback about the MSW Program and School of Social Work in the coming weeks:
- Graduating students (3-year and full-time) will have an opportunity to complete an Exit Survey in one of your advanced practice courses.
- 3-year students completing their second year and full-time students completing their first year will have an opportunity to complete a Mid-Point Survey in your foundation practice courses.
- 3-year students completing their first year will have an opportunity to complete a Mid-Point Survey next year, or may provide feedback this year to the School by sending me a memo or an email (plee4@email.sjsu.edu). If you would like to send feedback anonymously, submit your memo to my mailbox without your name.
Your practice instructors have been notified about these surveys and will allow class time for completion with the help of a student proctor. The instructors will not be in the room at the time of administration, and the surveys are anonymous. Your responses on the MSW Program Exit and Mid-Point surveys (different from the class SOTEs) will help us improve our MSW Program and curriculum. There is also an open-ended portion at the end of the survey which will give you the opportunity to give us more in-depth suggestions, comments, and feedback.
Please participate and take advantage of this opportunity.
Thanks for your support,
Peter

Hello Everyone!
I wish you well on all of your final
assignments and projects! We are now on the homestretch. So, questions
about graduation? Good. We now have some answers. Thanks for your
patience!
Question 1: When/Where can I pick up my tickets?
We
have just had the tickets printed. (Yeah!) and we will disburse the tickets this
coming Monday (April 30th) and Tuesday (May 1st) from 10am to 1:30pm AND 4:30pm
to 6pm at the back table area (near the Student Mailboxes) in the School of
Social Work.
We, the students are disbursing the tickets, so we picked these
times because people will not be in class, and yet will be available in between
classes. We are trying to be very accommodating, but in the case that you have a
different schedule, please be flexible and know that we are doing our best at
trying to accommodate everyone. Thanks!
Question 2: Do I need to bring a student ID to pick up my tickets?
Yes,
you will need to bring a student or a valid ID when picking-up your tickets for
graduation. . Graduation tickets will not be given to students if they do
not bring some sort of ID.
Question 3: Can my friend pick up my
tickets?
No. You must pick up your own tickets. And just make a process easy
for everyone, you will show ID and sign off that you have picked up your tickets
so that we may keep good records.
Question 4: What if I forgot how
many tickets I purchased?
Do not worry. We have kept good records, down to
the check number(s) you used to buy your tickets. So please just show up with
your ID and we will share with you our records. In fact, we will already have
your tickets organized in envelopes, ready for pick-up, when you
arrive.
Question 5: What if I had not yet purchased any tickets
yet, and contacted Erika Martinez, will I be able to pick up tickets?
For the
people who have NOT YET purchased tickets and who have also talked to Erika: the
answer is Yes! Bring your checkbook or a cashier's check. No cash will be
accepted for the purpose of keeping good records. Also, bring valid
ID.
Question 6: What if I have purchased tickets, and need a few
more? Can I buy some more tickets?
We are still working on making more space
available with the venue. So, we are not sure yet. However, if this describes
you, please fill out a Request for Tickets form, which will be made available at
ticket disbursement.
Question 7: What about cap and gown (also
referred to as regalia)? Do we get those from SWGSA?
SWGSA is not part of
the cap and gown distribution. You need to purchase that on your own. You can
purchase at the Spartan Bookstore. For more information you may go to the
following website: http://www.spartanbookstore.com/home.aspx
and click on 2007 GRAD FEST. This web site will direct you to a menu where you
will be able to click different menu options for everything you might need for
graduation.
Question 8: Do we have to wear a cap and gown?
No.
It is your choice. Although I believe the traditional cap and gown marks this
special occasion, I also understand and respect peoples' political opinions
about the academic institution, etc. However, it is your choice. We, the student
organizers, however, only ask if you can be respectful to others' in your
personal/political expression. Thank you in advance. ;^) Please note that
there might be a cap and gown requirement for the main SJSU graduation ceremony
at Spartan Stadium in the morning.
Question 9: I heard that there
would be a student speaker representing the Graduate students, and one student
speaker representing the Undergraduates, at the ceremony. Who is our
speaker?
Good question. We still do not know because we are asking the
students to nominate their student speaker. When you pick up your tickets, you
may nominate a student speaker. We will then ask the speaker who is nominated if
they will concede. We have not yet finalized this process of speaker selection,
however we know it begins with you-the students making your nominations.
Question: 10: When and where is rehearsal?
Good question. We
are still not sure. Unfortunately, the San Jose Convention Center wants to
charge us the price of the total rental to use for rehearsal. Yikes! Not
possible. So, right now graduation committee is exploring space on campus,
similar to the space of ceremony, for no cost, or low cost. Rehearsal will take
place after classes end. Please stay tuned to the MSW list serve; we will
announce the date/time of rehearsal as soon as the space is confirmed.
Thanks!
Question 11: I have more questions. How I can I learn more
information?
Please stay posted to the MSW list serve and attend the
graduation committee meetings: Every Mondays @ Noon in the Social Work Office.
We are working on graduation (while trying to graduate too!) and informing you
as soon as we are able. Although we began working on graduation in the beginning
of the academic year, well, there are still lots to do! Thanks for your
patience. ((And if you really cannot wait for the graduation announcements, and
cannot attend a meeting, then, please contact Erika Martinez, MSW Graduation
Committee Chair, directly at emartinez823@yahoo.com.))
Please
stay tuned for more graduation updates!!! We will make announcements as soon as
we are able!!!
Wishing you all the best,

RE: International Human Trafficking & Strategies for Social
Workers
Hello Everyone!
You are invited to an amazing
panel/event called International Human Trafficking In A Globalized World:
Strategies for Social Workers. It will take place on Monday, May 7, 2007, from
12noon to 2pm at the Martin Luther King Library Room #225/229.
This panel/event was organized by the students of the Social Work
285 (Social Work and Social Problems) class. This class, taught by Dr. Migdalia
Reyes, was offered for the very first time, this semester! Everything about this
class emulates social work in action! We hope this class
continues!
Social Work 285, examined the economic, political,
social and cultural factors operating at the local, national and global level,
paying particular attention to the disenfranchised, oppressed and marginalized
groups, including immigrants and refugees. This class provided a transcultural
multisystems international social work framework, culminating in the
organization of this wonderful panel/event!
I am proud of the
innovative teaching of Dr. Reyes and of the dedicated students of the class!
Great job everyone!!! I am also very proud to be a part of this wonderful class
and that SWGSA is one of the co-sponsors!!!
I have included the
flyer for your review and distribution. (Light lunch/refreshments will be
provided.) We hope to see you there!
Have a Great Day & Make it Count! (& Do That, by Attending this
Event!)

Hi all,
Thank you for your support and cooperation. Unfortunately, we did not get enough of a commitment to open a second section of ScWk 222 for Summer 2007. Among the reasons why some students could not commit were other obligations and financial restrictions, especially considering that summer fees are quite high. Here is what happens next:
1) Students who applied for summer internship (approximately 26 people) are responsible for confirming with Blanca Tavera whether their agencies will provide summer placement. Please do this asap. Blanca will issue you permissions codes for both ScWk 232 and ScWk 222.
2) After these summer internship students confirm, if there is room available in the summer ScWk 222 class, 3-year (part-time) students and those who provided compelling reasons for needing summer school will be given priority for enrollment. Please note that there might not be any additional enrollment possible. Another update will be sent after the summer internship placements are finalized, hopefully within a week.
We realize that this is not the ideal solution, and we wish that more could be done. Please continue to provide suggestions, and know that our Director, among other program and school administrators on campus, are still advocating for change that will benefit students hopefully in the near future.
Thank you again.
Take care,

ENTERING FINAL YEAR OF PLACEMENT - MHIP PROGRAM APPLICATION PROCESS: APRIL 23RD
THROUGH MAY10TH
This is a follow-up to my prior emails and postings in the School of Social
Work this academic year regarding the MHIP Program.
Qualifying
students may request and complete applications for the Mental Health Initiative
Program (MHIP) between April 23rd and May 10th. Tuesday, May 10th at 5pm is the
deadline for receiving completed applications in the School of Social Work
office.
Please email Auda Rivera at: arivera@casa.sjsu.edu to request the
applications materials.
Direct questions regarding the program to
me, Charley Hodson, at: InternProgram@aol.com
after carefully reviewing the information regarding required qualifications for
applying noted below.
The SJSU School of Social Work Mental Health
Initiative Program (MHIP) is funded by the State of California Department of
Mental Health via the California Social Work Education Center (Cal SWEC).
Funding is provided via the monies from the Mental Health Service Act (MHSA)
pursuant to the November 2004 State Initiative process, Proposition 63, which
voters approved to tax millionaires an extra 1% on their income above $1
million. This now brings in about $1 billion annually to the public mental
health system to fund new programs based on innovative ideas.
The
major values imbedded in programs related to MHSA funding are: Creating a public
mental health system with programs that are more culturally competent, mental
health consumer driven, social recovery/resiliency/strengths-based focusing on
innovative and evidenced based programs and interventions.
The
MHIP Program here at the School of Social Work provides additional trainings in
the area of mental health through seminars, works to improve mental health
related curriculum, and funds an $18,500 stipend for up to 10 MSW students
entering their final year of placement whether in the 3 year or full time
program.
Students accepted into the program are required to attend
additional trainings on a variety of mental health subjects throughout the
academic year outside of regular coursework and internship hours. These
trainings are normally held on Mondays and also on Tuesdays at noon. Students
accepted into the program are also required to work for one year (2080 hours)
upon graduation for a county mental health department or a county mental health
department contract agency. The initial requirement is to apply for employment
within a 75 mile radius of their residence. After a specified number of days
they are expected to broaden their employment search statewide with the
agreement that they must be willing to relocate somewhere in California
for employment if necessary.
In order to apply for this program a
student must meet the following minimum qualifications:
-In good
academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA
-An MSW student currently in the
Health/Mental Health Area of Specialization
-Have a strong interest and
demonstrated commitment to working in the public mental health
system
-Accepted into an internship for their final year of placement in a
county mental health department OR in a county mental health funded program
within a county mental health contract agency
-Willing to complete the post
graduate employment requirements noted above including the willingness to
relocate statewide if necessary
Following screening and scoring of
applicant applications, top candidates will be interviewed during a scored oral
and written interview process by a panel interview with 3 faculty and/or
community mental health social workers on either May 16th, 22nd or 24th.
Candidates will be informed of our decisions by June 15th.
I look
forward to answering your questions and reviewing your applications! I will be available briefly prior to and following the MHIP
co-sponsored training seminar (see prior MSW List Server email in the Almaden
Room of the Student Union on Tuesday, April 24th at noon).

ATTENTION SJSU STUDENTS AND FACULTY!
There is a problem in the CSU system that needs to be addressed: students are not getting what they need. When students in a public system are not getting their Bachelor's degrees on time or at all because of lack of class offerings, underfunded student services, and poor advising then they are not getting what they need. When I have to go to class with two jackets on because there is no heat in the building my class is in then I am forced to ask myself--what am I paying an extra 10% every year till 2011 for? In a report conducted during the height of the Faculty contract negotiations with the CSU Board of Trustees, it found that the CSU Board has approx. $1.2 Billion in extra funds! So why can't my faculty get their raises? And why do students have to pay more for less? The time to stand up is now!
On WEDNESDAY APRIL 25TH at El Paseo de Cesar Chavez from 12-1:30 , SJSU will shout with 9 other CSU campuses in one voice: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! The 10 Campuses include: San Jose State, San Francisco State, CSU East Bay, Sacramento State, CalPoly San Luis Obispo, CSU San Bernadino, CSU Long Beach, CSU Northridge, CSU Dominguez Hills and CSU Los Angeles. Each campus will be holding student actions including walkouts, rallies, demonstrations, and teach-ins to send a clear message to the CSU Board of Trustees that students are NOT price tags and we demand CHANGE! Whether you are tired of rising student tuition, poor student services, poor advising, lack of classes, large class sizes, or just want some respect then choose one of the following to do:
1. COME TO THE DEMONSTRATION! On Wed. April 25th, SJSU Students and Faculty will be holding a demonstration to showcase the corrupt CSU Board of Trustees. If you would like to join us and take a stand then please email us back to RSVP. We will provide all participants with an armband, a banner or sign, and a chant sheet. On the morning of the 25th, report to the Open Air Amphitheater approx. 11:30 to receive your gear and further instructions for the demonstration.
2. WEAR RED! If you can't particpate in the event then show your support by coming to school wearing RED. This will show the CSU Board of Trustees that we are united against rising student tuition, poor student services and advising, lack of classes, and large class sizes.
3. Write a letter to the Spartan Daily, the Mercury News, San Francisco
Chronicle, etc. or to our administration. The CSU State-wide Student Actions
will be making national headlines and reporters WANT to hear from students. If
you choose to write a letter make sure to mention the demonstration and why you
are participating in these statewide actions ( i.e. student tuition increases,
bad students services, future csu students from your family, executive perks
over student instruction, etc.). Our goal is to gain public support, and put
pressure on the Board of Trustees to start listening our complaints.

Faculty bring your classes to the rally! Students bring your friends and classmates! Forward this message to everyone! Dear 2008 MSW Graduates, (yes 2 0 0 8),
Many students who will be entering their final year in the MSW Program are anxious about what that experience will be like. Specifically, most are curious about the Social Work 298 special project. Below is some basic information about ScWk 298.
1. Success!
95% of our students successfully complete the ScWk 298 project on time. For those worried about being in the 5%, circumstances do arise that delay completion, but the ScWk 298 faculty will do their best to help you all succeed.
2. Anxiety Management
About 75% of surviving ScWk 298 is anxiety management. Seek support from your professors and classmates, take care of your health, stay organized, and study your class materials.
3. REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW
Please review your ScWk 240 and 242 materials over the summer, including SPSS. I AM NOT KIDDING! The ScWk 298 professors WILL still help you with the major research concepts. To help us help you, prepare yourself so that we can concentrate on building your skills and improving your ideas rather than on reviewing all the research basics.
4. Enrollment
ScWk 298 is 1 unit in the Fall and 2 units in the Spring, and is only offered
on Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:45.
Students enroll in the
ScWk 298 section of their choice. The possible exception to this is that there
will be volunteer research assistant positions available where selected
applicants will have the opportunity to work on faculty- and
department-sponsored projects. These students will be assigned a
particular ScWk 298 section. These positions and the application process
will be announced in early May.
5. Topics and Sequence
Students' ScWk 298 project topics are usually, but not always, consistent with the chosen field of practice (i.e. children, youth and families; aging; school social work; health /mental health). This is because most students will depend on their field placement and agency for data and support regarding ScWk 298 projects.
A common question is whether students can use their ScWk 240/242 papers as part of the 298. The answer is "no" and "yes." Although it is tempting to try and save work by writing a 240/242 proposal that can be used for 298, remember that:
(a) The purpose of 240/242 is to help you understand concepts and proposal writing, often made more applicable, and dare I say enjoyable, when you have the freedom to design a hypothetical study related to your passion to encourage interest in research without concern for actual implementation. These skills can then be applied towards 298, when you will actually have to propose, implement, and complete a research study.
(b) Since most students do not know what their final-year internship will be, it is premature to select a 298 topic in 240/242. It might not be feasible, applicable, or allowable according to the agency or 298 instructor. It is best to wait and receive guidance from the 298 professor and the agency personnel at that time.
(c) Once you find out your placement, you can do some preparation by checking-out possible topics, gathering preliminary library resources, and investigating IRB procedures for your agency. But again, wait until you are in 298 for consultation and official procedures before you finalize your topic.
6. IRB - Institutional Review Board
Students' ScWk 298 project proposals must be approved by the SJSU IRB BEFORE any data is collected in order to ensure the protection of human subjects. Although this part of the 298 process can be particularly stressful, again the professors are here to help you over that hurdle.
7. Thesis or Capstone?
ScWk 298 is NOT a thesis, and a thesis project is NOT required in our program. The ScWk 298 project constitutes the "culminating experience" and "capstone" for the Master of Social Work degree.
8. More Advice?
Some of the best advice about how to manage ScWk 298 will come from your peers completing their projects this year. Please ask them.
9. Orientation and Questions
I hope you find this information helpful. There will be a formal ScWk 298 overview in August at the MSW Orientation prior to the start of the Fall 2007 Semester. The exact date and time are to be announced.
Thank you and best wishes,
Peter

Hi all,
*** This is a reminder and repeat of message 2007:80 ***
Thank you for your patience and feedback regarding summer school. We appreciate how you have kept us informed about your situations.
We have received 26 applications for ScWk 232 (summer internship plus the
ScWk 222 practice class) and 19 applications for ScWk 222 separate from summer
internship. This means that there are 45 students wanting the summer ScWk
222 section (not including those who have expressed interest in other ways,
i.e., student petition). Originally, the School and Director was only able
to offer one section of ScWk 222 during the summer, which cannot hold all 45
students, but due to this interest, we will consider adding a summer ScWk 222
section. Please note the following so the School can offer this:
1) We
are not accepting any more summer internship applications for this year.
2)
BY MONDAY APRIL 16th, students who have already submitted an application for
ScWk 232 or ScWk 222, please contact me (plee4@email.sjsu.edu) to confirm your
enrollment commitment.
3) Students who are still interested in taking summer
ScWk 222, but have NOT submitted an application, please contact me (plee4@email.sjsu.edu) to confirm your
enrollment commitment BY MONDAY APRIL 16th. Remember that ScWk 220 and
ScWk 221 are prerequisites. Although other courses are not offered,
students in need of lightening their load in preparation for their final year
should consider summer ScWk 222. Your enrollment will increase the chances
of having an additional section offered this year (see #4 below), and also the
chances of your classmates being offered a similar option next year.
4) Due
to budget concerns, a minimum of 60 students total must commit to summer ScWk
222 to have that second section offered. There are 45 now, not counting
some of the student petition signers, so we are close.
5) If this minimum is
reached, a ScWk 222 section will be ADDED in summer, and a ScWk 222 section
REMOVED from Fall 2007, since there will be fewer students needing to take this
course in that semester, and that the School needs to budget accordingly.
Please note that your confirmation by MONDAY APRIL 16th is a commitment. If students reply and then back-out or drop the summer course later, this will endanger not only this year's situation, but also future summer school opportunities. After we receive the enrollment confirmations, Blanca Tavera or I will update you again next week.
Thank you again, and I hope we can continue to head towards solutions.
Take care,
Peter

Hi all,
Attached is the basic information regarding summer
classes. Only ScWk 222 and ScWk 232 are able to be offered, and both need
instructor approval gained via the summer course application process. If
you are interested in these classes, please complete the forms as directed in
previous MSW Mail messages by April 5th.
The School, Director, and I would also like to thank you students who have
expressed concerns and have advocated for yourselves in a professional and
respectful manner. I have received a few individual and group email
messages, and a petition regarding summer school. You have made your
points well and we hope that you will continue to provide feedback and
suggestions. I have shared the background and reasoning behind the summer
school decisions with a few of you who have asked, and will share this
information with you all here in this email:
1) The School recognizes that
we have areas of growth to address in order to improve our program. In
continuing our full-time and 3-year programs, with current possibilities of
students extending to 3, 4, and sometime 5 years with modified curriculum plans,
we are offering a few viable options for those who have difficulty taking a full
load of classes. Although a greater offering of summer school classes is
currently financially infeasible, students might still consider pacing
themselves through an extension of their program. Also, consider applying
for the ScWk 222 class so at least there is a chance for a one course
reduction.
2) The current reality is that SJSU and CSU system does not make it financially feasible for our programs (social work and others) to offer a full array of summer classes. Unfortunately, the way the CSU and SJSU finances work is that summer classes are much more expensive to offer compared to Fall/Spring courses, even when enrollment meets a minimum. We lose several thousands of dollars annually that are needed to even maintain our current, regular class offerings. This is a disincentive for many programs like ours, and until the university makes it more financially feasible, we cannot help but limit the courses we offer. Deciding on summer was very difficult, and even keeping summer internship was a stretch, but we felt this commitment to help 3-year (part-time) students was important, who rely more so on summer internship.
3) Petitions and surveys are helpful in gauging student interest.
The School and Director might consider additional summer courses if there is a
guaranteed minimal enrollment of 24 students for each class offered. We
have tried offering several summer classes in the past, but initial interest
from students did not fully translate into committed, sizable summer enrollment
for most of these courses. In the past two years, the School and Director
have graciously retained minimally-enrolled sections in order to honor our
commitment to those students, although it was a huge financial liability.
In light of fiscal responsibility, we simply cannot continue to do this.
4) Some of you have volunteered suggestions for financial and budgetary
options. Our Director, Alice Hines, as well as other school and department
heads, are working extremely hard behind the scenes to fight for solutions like
these. She and others are in many battles daily to maintain and promote
our School and our noble profession. She and our administration are facing
very difficult bureaucratic and systemic policies and issues. Regardless,
our School and faculty are trying their best, and we will continue to build and
promote our strengths while slowly, but surely, tackling our areas needing
improvement.
We can appreciate some of the frustration and disappointment
students have in their experiences here. We cannot promise solutions that
will immediately benefit you all, but we are dedicated to a path towards
advancing excellence in our School. Please continue to seek the benefits
from the faculty, training, and opportunities available to you now.
Students' willingness to communicate with us is a positive. Please continue to give us constructive feedback and concrete suggestions. SWGSA and faculty advisors are also available for support and as avenues to promote communication. And, feel free to contact me if you have additional questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Peter

Hi all,
MSW Mail Message 2007:68 was about the Bertha Kalm Scholarship Award.
According to SJSU, this scholarship is for first year candidates for the master's degree at SJSU (those of you who started the MSW Program in Fall 2006). Although, graduate coordinators are supposed to send forward the names and supporting information of an applicant who began the program in Fall 2006 or Spring 2007, I am asking for students to take initiative in indicating their interest and sending requested materials to the School of Social Work though me. This information from interested students will be evaluated by faculty, and a single nomination will be forwarded to Graduate Studies.
If you are qualified and interested, please do the following:
I must receive your materials no later than FRIDAY APRIL 13th
1) Send me (Peter Allen Lee) an email or letter as to your interest: plee4@email.sjsu.edu.
2) Attach a
current resume
3) Attach a personal statement (750 words or less). Your
statement will be evaluated according to how well you explain:

degree
C) Your explanation of potential success in the MSW Program and the
social work profession
D) How this scholarship will benefit you

Hello all,
Today's San Jose Mercury News contains a wonderful article about Inger
Sagatun-Edwards. It starts on the front page of the B
Section.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 9th, at 4
pm in Stanford Memorial Church.
In addition, Inger will be
honored Monday at the lecture by Cheryl Jacques. We felt that since the
CASA Day project was initiated and fostered by Inger, it would honor her to hold
the event despite the conflict with the service at Stanford. She was such
a fighter for CASA and fostering a future of inclusive excellence (the theme of
CASA Days) would be one way to honor her memory. There is a reception
prior to the lecture from 5 to 6 pm in the University room and the lecture
starts at 6:30 pm in MLK Library room 225. This event is open to SJSU
faculty, students, staff and the general public.

To BASW and MSW Students:
It is my sad duty to report that our Dean, Inger Sagatun-Edwards, Dean of the College of Applied Sciences and Arts, passed away on Monday afternoon, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two months ago. Dean Sagatun-Edwards came to SJSU as a faculty member in 1975, was chair of the department of Justice Studies for 12 years and was named Dean of the College of Applied Sciences and Arts in July 2005. An outstanding member of our campus community, she will be greatly missed by students, as well as her many colleagues and friends. Please keep her family and loved ones in your hearts.
