Graduation Requirements
To be awarded the Master of Social Work degree, students must:
- Complete 60 units of specified graduate work in the MSW Program with
a 3.0 or better grade point average (GPA);
- Complete all the prerequisites, course work, and agreements outlined
by the MSW Program and San José State University, including candidacy
and graduation forms properly submitted while a graduate student;
- Meet the University English Competency requirement; and,
- Finish all degree requirements within seven years (California Code
of Regulations, Title 5, Education).
*** Note that San José State University, not the MSW Program, is responsible
for conferring the degree.
