Helping a friend though a mental health struggle can be stressful so it is important to practice self care for yourself.  Here are some tips to help you manage your mental health.

  • Get some exercise - even just taking a walk outside can trigger endorphins in your body, which can help improve your mood.
  • Get support for yourself - find someone to confide in, a friend or professional.  You can still keep your friend's struggles confidential by talking about the any stress or struggles you are experiencing.
  • Sleep! Make sure you're getting enough rest.
  • Eat healthy - help your body get the nourishment it needs. Take care of yourself. Try comfort foods.
