Continuation in the Program
- What happens if my GPA falls below 3.0 during the program?
- Candidates whose GPA falls below 3.0 are subject to disqualification from the program. This applies also to candidates who receive grades of C or worse while taking courses in the program.
- What happens if I fail student-teaching or the directed teaching practicum?
- Candidates who fail a practicum once will be given an opportunity to do better the second time. However, they must skip a semester (to practice skills, or improve teaching situation) before re-applying to take it again. Those that fail the second time will be disenrolled form the program.
- What happens if I notice that I'm not doing will in a course?
- You should meet with the course instructor, seek recommendations, and apply yourself immediately to the task of improving. If you have problems with communication (oral and/or written) seek help from:
- Communicative Disorders and Sciences
- Counseling Center
- Disability Resource Center
- Martin Luther King Library
- Writing Center
