INTERN PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
(For students who are enrolled in a credential program AND are interested in the Intern Program.)

If you:

1.) have a job offer as a teacher
2.) have completed four pre-service classes, and
3.) are (or will be) a matriculated student in a Special Education Credential program at SJSU,

please submit a professional letter (requesting to be an Intern) to Dr. Hagie. Please include a copy of your unofficial transcripts. These documents may be emailed to Dr. Hagie (christine.hagie@sjsu.edu), hand-delivered to the department office in SH 204, or mailed to the following address for review:

Additionally please attend an Intern Orientation at your earliest convenience.

IN ORDER TO BECOME AN INTERN, YOU MUST:

I.    have been admitted to SJSU and the Department of Special Education
     
(please apply via the same route as listed on the How To Apply page).

II.   have a job offer as a teacher from a school district, non-public school, or
       County Office of Education.

III. turn in the Intern Application Packet as requested by the Department
       of Special Education.

                  If your documents are sufficient and you are approved for the intern option,
                  you will need to apply for your INTERN CREDENTIAL (with the Credentials
                  Office), immediately.

                  Please visit the Credentials Office and navigate to the appropriate checklist in
                  order to obtain your intern credential.

IV. attend the Summer Intern Institute. The Intern institute is to prepare students
      for success in their first semester as an Intern.

Dates: August 3, 2015 - August 7, 2015

Time: 9:00am to 5:00pm
