African American College Readiness Summit

The Annual African-American College Readiness Summit

is set for November 7, 2019, at San José State University.

A conference for African American high school students where they receive information about college preparation and admissions, careers, study strategies, financial aid, and scholarships. Students also experience campus life by touring the campus, connecting with college students and leaders, faculty and staff, and participating in campus activities. This conference is a partnership between the school districts, the university and several community organizations. The goal is to encourage more students to consider a path to higher learning.

This year’s program is again being sponsored by San José State University, in collaboration with several community organizations including the Santa Clara County Alliance of Black Educators, 100 Black Men of Silicon Valley, California Alliance of African American Educators, Silicon Valley Black Chamber of Commerce, and the Santa Clara County Office of Education.
