Approximately 1,900 graduate students applied to graduate in Spring 2017. If you applied to graduate, congratulations on being closer to completing your program!
Graduate students who applied for May 2017 graduation will be messaged in mid-May outlining the review process and timelines. In the meantime, please take a look at the Steps for Completing Your Master’s Degree, including the Steps to Graduation brochure, for detailed graduation information.
In addition, we are currently accepting graduation applications for Summer 2017 from students who have already advanced to graduate candidacy. For questions or assistance, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Fall 2017 registration begins this month for continuing SJSU students who may register up to 16 units at this time. Registration was moved from June to May in order to better support student success so continuing students will have more time to meet with advisors and plan their next term. On Friday, June 30 graduating seniors who have filed for graduation by March 20 may enroll in up to 19 units without a petition. On Friday, July 7 continuing students in good standing may enroll in up to 19 units. Starting August 7, graduating seniors and continuing students in good standing may file an excess unit petition found on the Office of the Registrar.
Forms page Fall registration continues until Aug. 20 and resumes on Aug. 23, the first day of classes.
The document completion date deadline has been extended to May 26, 2017 by the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office. Please ensure that all requested documents as noted in MySJSU are submitted by this date in order to be considered for maximum funding.
In order to receive a tuition fee deferral, which protects course enrollment and delays the payment of tuition fees, students selected for verification must complete all requested financial aid documents by Friday, June 30, 2017. Students not selected for verification will receive a tuition fee deferral if the financial aid application is completed on time. A tuition fee deferral is temporary and is removed the second week of the semester. You will know if you have a tuition fee deferral as an indicator will be posted on the right hand side of your MySJSU home page.
If you take any courses during the summer at other universities, including community colleges, please ensure the official transcript is sent to San José State University AND that you send an email to email@example.com with your name and student ID to alert our staff that a transcript has been sent on your behalf. This will help us ensure that your MyProgress is accurate. If you notice any transfer credit from courses or tests such as CLEP missing from MyProgress, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org right away.
The Writing Skills Test will be administered twice this summer on June 3 and July 22. More information about registration is available here http://testing.sjsu.edu/wst/
