Martin Luther King (MLK) Library provides all library users with access to information and learning resources in digital and print formats and foster lifelong opportunities for the entire community. The MLK Library is the main library for both San José State University and the San José Public Library system.

Peer Connections

Peer Connections offers free mentoring and tutoring services to undergraduate SJSU students. We encourage students to become independent learners who are engaged with their campus experience. Our mentors and tutors are SJSU students, just like you - they understand the challenges you may be facing, and will assist you to the best of their abilities.

Writing Center

The San José State University Writing Center is a unit of Student Academic Success Services (SASS). We offer a variety of resources to help students become better writers, and all of our services are free for SJSU students. It's difficult enough being a college student, so why let a writing assignment add to your stress? We'll be your guides through the often bewildering world of words, and you'll emerge with the communication skills necessary to your success as a student.

Wellness and Health Promotion (WHP) Office acts as a resource center for information and referral assistance concerning alcohol and other drug abuse, date or acquaintance rape and sexual assault prevention. They offer presentations and maintain a comprehensive library of materials on these subjects.

Accessible Education Center

The San Jose State University Accessible Education Center (AEC), formerly known as the Disability Resource Center (DRC), Division of Student Affairs, is a comprehensive center providing both students and employees with accommodations and services. The Center works closely with faculty, staff, programs and departments to deliver services and promote access for students with disabilities in the classroom and throughout the campus.

Campus Recreation

We provide students, faculty, and staff with opportunities to stay healthy, have fun, and enhance their education and development experiences through recreational activities.

Career Center

The Career Center promotes the development of SJSU students as professionals by providing the tools to guide you in making career-planning decisions along with developing and marketing your skills to employers.

Over half of SJSU's students and many of SJSU's alumni connect annually with the Career Center. The Career Center strives to offer the highest quality services to all our clients.

Educational Opportunity Program

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is designed to improve student academic support of first-generation, low-income and educationally disadvantaged students. The program provides admission, academic, and financial assistance to EOP-eligible undergraduate students considered California residents or AB540 students.

Financial Aid and Scholarship Office

The Financial Aid and Scholarship Office provides quality educational financing options, while delivering consistent, equitable, and timely services to student aid applicants. In addition to federal and state funding, the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office connects students with campus scholarship opportunities and other off campus resources.

PRIDE Center

The LGBT Resource Center aims to support the LGBTIQQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Intersex, Queer, Questioning, Ally) students of San José State University through dynamic programming and educational outreach. The Resource Center seeks to improve the campus climate for LGBTIQQA students and advocate for the respect and safety of all members of the campus community.

MOSAIC Cross Cultural Center

Mosaic Cross Cultural Center provides support services and advocacy for students from historically underrepresented identity groups, along with programming, events, and leadership opportunities for all students, staff, and faculty at San José State University.

Student Involvement

The Student Involvement aims to engage students in learning and personal development by fostering connections within the diverse university community, promoting campus citizenship, and preparing students for current and future leadership roles.

Transportation Solutions

Transportation Solutions' mission is to alleviate automobile traffic to SJSU and reduce its impact on the University’s parking facilities. Transportation Solutions is dedicated to serve the commute needs of the students and employees of SJSU. Its region-wide operation emphasizes alternatives to driving alone. These alternatives are primarily made of carpools and vanpools, public and private transit including buses and shuttles, local and regional rail, and non-motorized travel, including bicycling and walking.

University Housing Services

University Housing Services strives to create a residential community that supports and enhances academic success, fosters the learning and development of our students, and promotes student involvement and civic engagement.  As a department, our practices promote efficiency, operational effectiveness and fiscal responsibility.

Veterans Services Office

The Veterans Services Office, which is part of the Office of the Registrar, is dedicated to assisting eligible student Veterans, Active Servicepersons, Dependents, Reservists, and National Guard Members with state and federal education benefit programs.

Women’s Resource Center

The Women's Resource Center seeks to support women and feminist students at San José State University through dynamic programming and educational outreach. The Women's Resource Center also aims to improve the campus climate for female or feminist-identified students and advocate for the respect and safety of all members of the campus community.

Counseling Services

Counseling Services provides quality services to students so they can achieve their goals of becoming successful graduates of San José State University, both academically and socially. To fulfill this objective, we look at the whole student and provide guidance and tools to become productive and well rounded. Professionally trained psychologists, social workers, and counselors are available for students on an individual, couple, or group basis for counseling on a variety of psychological and academic issues. In addition, we provide services such as outreach presentations for students, student groups, staff, and faculty; consultations on issues of student mental health and campus climate; and professional training, teaching, and supervision for future mental health personnel, consistent with the educational mission of the University.

Student Health Center

The Student Health Center provides medical care to students enrolled at SJSU. In addition to treating acute conditions, injuries, and illnesses, the Health Center provides a family planning program and maintains an in-house licensed pharmacy, a physical therapy department, a federally certified high complexity laboratory, and an x-ray department.

Next Door

The Next Door Solutions is a 24-hour hotline for victims of domestic violence. They also offer a full range of programs and services to help break the cycle of violence, from those that give immediate relief to families in need to proactive services that help women and families move their lives in healthy directions.

YWCA Rape Center

The YWCA Rape Crisis Center helps residents of Silicon Valley to minimize the traumatic aftermath of sexual assault and to promote safety, mobility, and freedom from abuse for all people. We provide a 24-hour, seven days-a-week crisis hotline, immediate crisis counseling and assistance, information and referrals, and accompaniment services to medical, police, and court facilities.

Police Services Assistant (Evening Guide Escort Program)

Through the Evening Guide Escort Program, Police Services Assistants (PSAs) provide escorts for members of the campus community up to 2 blocks off-campus, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Typically, a trained, uniformed PSA equipped with a radio will walk you to your destination. However, in the event that a PSA is not available, a police officer will provide the escort.

University Police Department

The mission of the University Police Department is to engage the campus community in creating a safe environment to live, work and learn. In order to provide efficient and effective service to our community, UPD is fully committed to building and maintaining meaningful partnerships within the campus, throughout the adjoining neighborhoods and with all relevant local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Associated Students

Associated Students of San Jose State University has been a student owned and operated non-profit organization for over 100 years.  We are committed to providing services and activities that enhance the opportunity to meet, recreate and maximize student life.  Opportunities to get involved and obtain leadership skills are among our highest priorities. AS provides an opportunity for students to find voice, share their opinions, express ideas, concerns and needs to the campus and greater community.

University Ombudsperson

The University Ombudsperson is an advocate for procedural fairness who supports the integrity of the campus policies and procedures and ensures the equity of their application. The Ombudsperson provides impartial and confidential consultation to members of the campus community who are concerned about a situation or issue and aids in interpreting SJSU policies and procedures.
