Study Abroad

SJSU offers a range of Study Abroad programs for a single semester or the academic year. Programs are available at over 250 universities in 55 different countries. You can find the program that is right for you by searching by region, program type, or major.

In the College of International and Extended Studies (CIES), we understand the importance of studying abroad. Due to current immigration policies, DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) students may substitute international experiences outside the country with domestic immersion experiences within the United States.

The department of Global Education and Initiatives will be offering domestic travel programs during the winter and spring breaks.  Please check the GEI website throughout the year for details and updates about these offerings. CIES staff will continue working with the Colleges and departments to identify additional "study-abroad-at-home" experiences within the U.S.

On campus, there are many opportunities to engage in intercultural experiences including participation in the Global Student Network (GSN) student organization, living at the International House, pursuing recognition of your international involvement through the Global Leadership Advancement Center (GLAC), attending weekly Coffee Hours, and volunteering in the community locally. To learn more about domestic cross-cultural trips, please e-mail GEI
