San José, Costa Rica
San José is the capital city of Costa Rica and is also known by native “Ticos” as Chepe. The city has grown exponentially in the past 60 years and is packed with office towers, shopping malls and fast food restaurants. There are also many markets and a lot of nightlife entertainment as well as rougher, more depressed areas that usually compose at least a part of a major world city. More than one-third of all Ticos reside in or near San José, and since Costa Rica is not a large country, access and transportation to the more rural and “ecological” areas that Costa Rica is famous for is very easy.
Universidad Veritas is a private university that specializes in Art, Design, and Architecture and is located in Costa Rica’s capital city of San José. The Center for International Programs works with its partners to create a unique experience for exchange students, offering courses in culture, language, literature, and more, in addition to regular university courses. The campus population is a modest 1,800 students, and 500 international students travel to study here every year. The campus provides advanced technology and facilities to encourage innovation, internationalization, and entrepreneurship amongst its students.
