Bangalore, also called Bengaluru, is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. Located on the Deccan Plateau in the southeastern part of Karnataka, Bangalore is India’s third most populous city and fifth-most populous urban agglomeration. Bangalore is well known as a hub for India’s information technology sector. It is among the top 10 preferred entrepreneurial locations in the world. As a large and growing metropolis, Bangalore is home to many well-recognized colleges and research institutions in India. Key public sector industries, include software companies, aerospace, telecommunications, and defense organizations all located in the city. Bangalore is known as the Silicon Valley of India because of its position as the nation’s leading IT exporter.

Alliance Business School, Alliance University

Alliance has a well-equipped campus in the heart of the city, and has a world-class residential, wi-fi campus spread over 36 acres at Anekal, Bangalore. Alliance is the first Business-School in India to be accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), USA, one of three premier management education accrediting bodies in the world. Alliance is a member of AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and is pursuing accreditation. Students from overseas are an important part of the community at Alliance and the institution has a growing number of visiting students from many countries. Visiting students are taught alongside other post-graduate management students and are fully integrated into the academic and social life of the institution. International students value the unique experiences and perspectives that they gain away from their home, amongst a different and diverse culture. Students study for either one semester or take one or two courses.

Eligibility Requirements

Students must:

  • have sophomore, junior or senior standing by the semester of departure for the BBM undergraduate program,
  • be enrolled in the Lucas Graduate School of Business by the semester of departure for the MBA postgraduate program,
  • be enrolled as an SJSU student for one semester prior to departure, or be a California community college student eligible to enter SJSU by the semester of departure,
  • have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.

Academic Program

The School of Business offers several academic courses in management that combine rigor with relevance. The Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) course equips graduates with required skill sets such as analytical, decision-making, technical, interpersonal and technological skills. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) course is the flagship of the School of Business with its emphasis on a global perspective and focus. The academic courses in management offered by the School of Business are designed to equip its graduates with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to be successful as managers and/or entrepreneurs. The delivery methodology is student-centered and includes active learning, inquiry, experiential learning, co-operative and participative learning activities. We focus on integration of knowledge, development of critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills. Such a learning environment encourages the students to enjoy lessons, try out new things and to think creatively and independently.
