Program Overview

A 4-week course in California and Ireland that will let students learn about Ireland’s rich tradition of literature and film, with a focus on Ireland’s history of using language and images to define cultural values and fight for peace and social justice. (Note: the first week will be held at SJSU, the rest will be in Ireland.) This is still in the planning stage, so suggestions are welcome!

The program cost includes:

  • In-country transportation to itinerary items Breakfast provided daily, as well as group welcome and farewell dinners
  • and one additional dinner mid-program
  • Shared housing in centrally located dormitories or budget hotels
  • throughout the program with 2 to 4 students per room (separate beds).
  • Private, en-suite single for the faculty member
  • All group excursions and entrance fees per itinerary
  • Pre-trip organizational program materials and marketing documents
  • Extensive staff support throughout all phases of the program, onsite CISabroad guide
  • 24 hour emergency access to support staff and offices
  • Tips to guides and/or others
  • $3M insurance policy protecting San Jose State University and their participants
