Reduce Your Footprint
REDUCE YOUR FOOTPRINT
Here are some tips for living greener every day and reducing your own carbon "footprint":
- Learn Kung Food
Check out the quirky series of award winning Green Ninja films that are written and directed by SJSU students and faculty. - Manage your E-Waste
Anyone can drop off/scavenge any electronic equipment in the e-waste area, located in the Student Union #360 (Top Floor) at 211 South 9th Street, San Jose. Hours are: M-TH 8am-10pm, F-Sat 10am-4pm, Sun 5-10pm, (408) 924-6976. - Use Public Transit
With a Tower ID card and Eco Pass sticker, SJSU students, staff, and faculty can enjoy unlimited rides on all Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) Buses and Light Rail. - Find Other Transportation Solutions
See the SJSU Transportation Solutions website for bike-sharing programs, discount train fares, and other sustainable ways to get around. - Break the Bottle Habit
Use reusable, washable stainless steel or BPA-free plastic water bottles instead of bottled water. - Avoid Paper Waste
Send documents electronically whenever possible. Print double-sided. Create a collection box for usable one-sided scrap paper. Faculty can utilize D2L Learning Management System to share documents online with students rather than in print.
