Experimental Course Proposals (96/196/296)

Departments that wish to offer new subject matter prior to proposing a permanent course, or to meet one-time demands, should use the New Course Proposal Form. Some colleges require the same approval process as for new permanent and experimental courses; others may require only department chair and college dean approval before the proposal is forwarded to the AVP's office. NOTE: Approval is for one semester only. The requested experimental course can be offered up to a maximum of three times and requires resubmission of experimental course proposal forms each semester (before anticipated offering), with chair and dean signatures, each time the course is offered. An experimental course that is offered and cancelled does not count against 3 maximum offerings. Note that you must use the 96/196/296 number for experimental courses.   Append an additional letter suffix to distinguish it from other 96 course ID you have used (e.g., 96M).
