Understanding of basic design principles, concepts, media and formats. The development of solutions to aesthetic and design problems in both 2D and 3D

Ability to synthesize the use of 2D design, 3D design, art history and aesthetics both formally and conceptually in art education courses.

Skill in the use of basic tools, techniques, and processes to work from concept to finished product. This includes knowledge of basic materials and technical procedures in a variety of 2D and 2D media.

Functional knowledge of the history of art from both western and nonwestern perspectives.
