First Time Career Development Applicant

Applying for Admission


To participate in the career development tuition fee waiver program, you must first apply for admission to the university by visiting Cal State Apply and pay a $70 application fee. To request reimbursement, please send an email to fee-waiver@sjsu.edu with the following information:

  • Full name
  • Student ID or Application Confirmation Number from Cal State Apply
  • Term applying for
  • Undergraduate or graduate
  • Receipt for payment

Reimbursement will be processed once you have enrolled. Please be aware that the $70 application fee is non-refundable should you withdraw, choose not to enroll or be denied admission to the university.*

* Only one application fee will be reimbursed regardless of the number of applications submitted via Cal State Apply.

Registration and Fee Payment


Once you have been admitted as a matriculated student, you can register for your classes during your assigned enrollment period. Please submit a Staff Fee Waiver Career Development Application (.pdf) (staff only) or a Fee Waiver for Faculty (.pdf) form (faculty only) to fee-waiver@sjsu.edu no later than 10 business days prior to your payment due date. Classes may be dropped and/or an overdue payment fee (non-refundable) may be assessed if your application is not received by the deadline.
