Retirement Savings Program Fair

Human Resources is hosting a Retirement Savings Program Fair on Thursday, May 14 from 11:00 to 1:30 in ENG 285/287. This is your opportunity to connect with the Tax Sheltered Annuity providers.

The CSU 403(b) Tax Sheltered Annuity (TSA) Program is a voluntary program that allows eligible CSU employees to save toward retirement by investing pre-tax contributions in tax-deferred investments in either annuities or mutual funds. There are five TSA providers: Valic, Fidelity Investments, Voya (formerly ING Life and Annuity), MetLife, and TIAA-Cref.

It’s never too early to start planning for your retirement! Learn about your options, ask questions, and set up a one on one appointment with your provider.

Spartans Stepping Beyond

"Lisa does all of the preparation work for the Ask Me tables.  She schedules locations and set-up/tear-down with FD&O, orders the tents and giveaways, schedules all of the volunteers and then sets up and tears down every day. Student Affairs always receives great feedback about this event but it would not happen without all of Lisa's work and planning. I really appreciate her efforts!"

Spotlight on:

Workforce Planning

The Workforce Planning unit handles a variety of HR functions to help departments effectively plan and manage the needs of their staff and management employees. The primary functions of the unit are:

All aspects of staff and management recruitment are managed by the Workforce Planning unit; from the request to recruit process to posting position vacancies to meeting with the hiring committee to screening applications and finally, working with you to make an offer of employment.

On Boarding
On Boarding begins when the offer letter and position description are sent to the candidate and the Coordinators act as the primary point of contact for hiring managers and the candidate through New Employee Orientation on their first day of employment.

The Workforce Planning Analysts and Lead analyze all classification and compensation requests and work to ensure all positions are properly classified and all employees equitably compensated. In addition, the staff work on campus-wide programs related to classification and compensation and liaise with the Chancellor's Office on system-wide programs.

Position Management
All PeopleSoft position management functions are managed by the On Boarding Coordinators, including creation of new positions, changes to existing positions and changes in reporting structures.

Led by Carrie Medders, Senior Director of Human Resources, the entire staff is committed to providing outstanding customer service and is here to help.

Rosalina Calderon - Workforce Planning Lead
Amanda Frank - Workforce Planning Analyst
Tony Garcia - Workforce Planning Analyst
