San Jose State University
Urban Planning Coalition presents

2015 Fall Symposium
"Pathways to Affordable Housing in Silicon Valley"

Saturday, November 7, 2015
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Student Union Theater
San Jose State University
1 Washington Square, San Jose, CA 95192

In the metropolitan San Jose area, 60 percent of households are unable to afford the average rent for a two-bedroom home, which has surpassed $2,900, the San Jose Mercury News reported earlier this year. Even among the region’s highly-paid tech workers, fewer than half can afford the median home price of $925,000. Again, that’s the median.

The problem of Silicon Valley’s skyrocketing home prices is well documented, but what can be done about the issue? The Urban Planning Coalition is proud to bring together some of the region’s top housing experts for a day focused on pathways to affordability.

The event is free to attend and open to anyone interested in solutions to Silicon Valley’s housing crisis. Breakfast and lunch are on us, too.
