Lower Division Transfer (Frosh/Sophomore)

To transfer with fewer than 60 transferable semester units (90 quarter units) you must:

  • Declare one of the approved majors in the College of Engineering or Nursing.
  • Submit your high school transcript.
  • You must be a high school graduate.
  • Submit SAT I or ACT scores, unless your high school GPA was above 3.00 (3.60 for non-residents).
  • Meet high school course requirements and make up any deficiencies on a course-by-course basis, usually by completing general education courses with grades of "C" or better.
  • Meet the GPA/test score eligibility index required of freshmen.
  • Earn at least a 2.00 grade point average in all transferable courses completed.
  • Be in good standing at the last college attended.

If you completed college units before graduating from high school or during the summer between high school and CSU enrollment, you are considered a first-time freshman and must meet frosh requirements.
