Upper Division Transfers (Junior/Senior)

 

 

Students with 60 or more transferable semester units (90 quarter units) who wish to transfer to San José State University:

  • Must be a high school graduate, or equivalent.
  • Must earn a college grade point average of 2.00 (2.40 for non-residents) or better in all transferable courses.
  • Must be in good standing at the last college or university attended.
  • Submit all college transcripts to date at the time of application.
  • Must complete at least 30 semester units (45 quarter units) of general education courses, with grades of "C" or better in each course, including the following four basic skills courses:

1. One course in oral communication,

2. One course in written composition,

3. One course in critical thinking,

4. One course in mathematics or quantitative reasoning, with intermediate algebra as a prerequisite.

The basic skills courses must be completed by the spring semester prior to fall admission. For spring admission, they must be completed by the summer prior to admission.

This transfer plan clears all course deficiencies that might have occurred in high school.
