Welcome to the SJSU WASC Accreditation Website
San Jose State University is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). We are currently in self-study, will reports due in 2014 and a site visit after that. This website will help you follow our progress and find ways to get involved!
The accreditation cycle is intense and dynamic. Self-study allows us to articulate our institutional goals, collect data to assess how well we are meeting those goals, refine or realign out priorities, and then share this story with a wide range of colleagues, constituents, and stakeholders. The process is honest, transparent, and dedicated to making San Jose State University a vibrant leader of 21st century higher education.
At this website, you will find resources that explain the WASC process, including accreditation standards and WASC calendar for SJSU. You can see our own self-study workplan and milestones, follow the progress of our four task forces, and get the latest news through our WASC Matters newsletter. If you are new to university accreditation, we hope you find the glossary of key terms and evolving list of frequently asked questions helpful. The archives hold key documents from the past and the short videos in the media library will showcase what we learn as we go and highlight points of Spartan pride.
Self-study needs all voices and perspectives. You can join task force, participate in a forum, point us to best practices, or just share your own SJSU story. This is for us and for the future of San Jose State University - everyone is welcome!
