Area 7.0: Assessment Reports

Assessment Activity at SJSU: The University is presently engaged in a significant effort to enable a culture of evidence to emerge where student learning is the focus of data collection, review, analysis, and discussion in both academic and student support programs. The schedule in place is:

Spring 05: All programs identify at least one outcome they can collect data on in Fall 05.
Fall 05: Collect data on at least one outcome; identify a full set of outcomes and a timeline for data collection; update student learning outcome information on university website.
Spring 06: Collect data on additional outcomes; discuss analysis of Fall 05 data and plan changes as needed.
Fall 06: Collect data on additional outcomes; discuss analysis of Spring 06 data and plan changes as needed.
Spring 07: Collect data on any remaining outcomes; discuss analysis of Fall 06 data and plan changes as needed.

Spring 2005 Assessment Reports

The Spring 05 status report for the Academic Affairs Division indicated that nearly all degree programs had identified at least one student learning outcome they planned to collect data on in Fall 05. Plans for assessment in the Enrollment Management student support areas were not yet in place. Assessment plans for data collection in all areas of Student Affairs are described in their status report. Finally, a status report for assessment plans in enrollment and academic services was prepared in September fo 2005.
