After you log in to the WebCMS or Spartan Faculty Web Wizard system, the system tries to open a new browser window where you can work on your site. Since this new window is opened by a program, not directly by the user, it is considered a "pop-up" window.
Since many pop-up windows are unwanted advertisements, there are utilities designed to prevent them from opening. They are called "pop-up blockers". Pop-up blockers will also prevent WebCMS and Spartan Faculty Web Wizard windows from opening.
If you continue to see the login screen after typing your name and password, but don't see an error message, it is usually because a pop-up blocker prevented the next window from opening.
Pop-up blockers can be found in Web browsers, toolbars, and
other software. In order to use WebCMS or Spartan Faculty Web
Wizard, you need to disable all pop-up blockers or configure them
to allow pop-up windows from http://webcms.sjsu.edu . This is because even if you disable
the pop-up blocker in Internet Explorer, for example, the pop-up blocker in the
Google toolbar can still prevent needed windows from opening.
See the following sections for specific instructions on disabling a pop-up blocker. Note: You may need to disable more than one.
If Internet Explorer's built-in pop-up blocker is preventing a window from opening, you will see a screen like this:
If you see the above message, click in the yellow area at the top of the window and choose "Always Allow Pop-ups from This Site..." from the menu.
Then, click on the "Reopen window" button.
If you still cannot access the application, check for other pop-up
blockers, such as the Google or Yahoo! toolbar.
If Firefox's built-in pop-up blocker is preventing a window from opening, you will see a screen like this:
If you see the above screen, click on the "Options" button and choose "Allow popups for webcms.sjsu.edu" from the menu.
Then, click on the "Reopen window" button.
If you still cannot get to the application, check for other pop-up
blockers, such as the Google or Yahoo! toolbar.
If you are using Safari, you need to disable its pop-up blocker by removing the check mark from the "Block Pop-Up Windows" item in the Safari menu.

If the Yahoo! toolbar blocks a pop-up window, you will see a
screen like this:

If this happens, go back to the www.sjsu.edu/login page and
click on the pop-up button
in the Yahoo!
toolbar. Then, select "Always Allow Pop_Ups From..." from the
menu.

Select webcms.sjsu.edu from the list of sites and click on Allow.

If the Google toolbar is preventing a window from opening, you will see a screen like this:

If you see a screen like the above, go back to
www.sjsu.edu/login and click on the Google toolbar options
button.
You will see the options menu:

To disable the pop-up blocker, remove the check mark from the Popup Blocker item.
