Apple Lauds Laptop Project

Mary Fran Breiling, director of SJSU's Wireless Laptop Pilot Project in Academic Technology, reports that Apple Computer has identified the project as one of its Profiles in Success, which the company has published on its Web site. Says Breiling, the laptop project was established as a teaching and learning initiative to equip students with the technology skills needed in a knowledge-based global economy and for learning beyond the classroom. The Apple profile includes applications from two SJSU schools: Art and Design and Journalism and Mass Communications. Two departments in the College of Education are also featured: Educational Leadership and Child and Adolescent Development. See www.apple.com/education/profiles/sjsu/.
