Windows 2000

Please follow these instructions to configure a wireless card using Windows 2000 Professional. This instruction contains two parts; Configure Wireless Adapter and Configure LAN Settings.

Configure Wireless Adapter (3 steps)

This may vary based on the brand of adapter card.

Step 1

From the task bar found on the right bottom of the screen, click on the wireless adapter icon wireless icon.

Step 2

Click the Configuration”tab on the popup window to configure the adapter.

Don't close this window.

Step 3

Click on Link Info tab. The status of the wireless connection will be shown.

Configure LAN settings (4 steps)


Step 1

From Desktop, right click on My Network Places and select Properties from the dropdown menu.

Step 2

The Network and Dial-up Connection will appear. If your wireless network adapter is appropriately connected and recognized by the operating system, an icon will appear in the window. Right click on the icon as shown in the screen shot, and choose Properties.

If you need help in creating a LAN connection, press F1 for Windows help.

Step 3

Choose the General tab. Highlight Internet Protocol and click Properties.
