Computer Science

All students enrolled as Computer Science majors have been required to have a laptop computer since Fall 2004.

Minimum Hardware Requirements:

Apple Macintosh computers and comparable PC brands such as Dell Inspiron and Latitude computers, and Compaq may also meet these minimal standards:

Processor Intel Core Duo or Macintosh Intel Core 2 Duo
1 Gig RAM
Hard Disk 120 GB
CD-RW/DVD
Ethernet Card 10/100 Network Card Built in
Ports: USB, Infrared, Firewire
Video Capabilities 1024x768
Display 14.1" Color Active
Wireless Card 802.11g (prefered) or 802.11b card
Windows XP Pro or OS X

Minimal Software Requirements:

Please check with the professor to determine the software requirements for each class.
