The CSU Consortium for the SLI Language Program
Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Persian, or Russian
Languages of Significant National and Global Importance!!!!

Arabic is in very high demand across the globe. Well paying career opportunities in Arabic are abundant and growing. The 15-month SJSU SLI Arabic immersion program is directed at individuals who wish to begin and/or advance their Arabic. Emphasis is placed on the practical use of the language and culture. Career counseling is available.

The program includes:

• Two 8-Week Summer Immersions in Jordan
• One Academic Year Online Component
• A Certificate Upon Successful Completion of the Program

Students learn Levantine Colloquial, Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and Classical Arabic. The language portion is supplemented by guest speakers, field trips, scavenger hunts, and activities in art, calligraphy, dance, music, politics, history, media, business, customs and traditions, literature, film, cartoons, television, and cuisine of the Arab world.

Students who show financial need and academic merit (funds permitting) may be granted a scholarship that will cover a portion or all of the program fees. Financial aid can apply.
