Requirements Checklist:

Undergraduate (B.A. and minor) Candidates:

I have declared a major or minor in a World Language program (must appear on unofficial transcript).

I will have completed at least one semester of study in the SJSU Dept. of World Languages and Literatures by the time I receive my scholarship.

I am a World Language minor and will be enrolled in a minimum of 3 units of World

Languages classes during the semester(s) I receive this award OR I am a World Language major and will be enrolled in at least 5 units of World Languages classes during the semester(s) I receive this award.

I have an overall GPA of at least 3.00.

I have at least a 3.50 GPA in my World Language major/minor coursework (Financial Aid Students) OR I have at least a 3.75 GPA in my World Language major/minor coursework (Merit-only).

I have received official recommendation for this scholarship by a World Language instructor

I can provide evidence of finacial need from the SJSU Office of Financial Aid OR evidence of exceptional merit (superior GPA, leadership in World Language clubs or honor society, student outreach or other World Langauge activites).

 

Graduate Students and Teacher Education Candidates:

I am enrolled in a graduate program in a World Language OR I am enrolled in a FLED credential program.

I will be enrolled in at least 5 units of World Language classes during the semester(s) I receive this award.

I have attained at least a 3.50 GPA in World Language coursework (Financial Aid Students) OR I have attained at least a 3.75 GPA in World Language coursework (Merit-only).

I have received official recommendation for this scholarship by a World Language instructor
