Faculty Services

The Writing Center is dedicated to assisting all faculty in their efforts to elicit the best writing from their students. If we are to achieve our goal of being able to assist all students in all disciplines, we must work closely with the instructors who know those students best. If you would like to use our services, or if you have any suggestions for resources beyond those listed below, please let us know . We welcome your comments and suggestions.

If you would like to refer a student to the Writing Center, you can download our referral form here.

House Calls – our Writing Specialists or faculty-in-residence can visit your classroom and

  • Give a quick talk on a commonly requested writing topic.
  • Conduct a custom workshop on a discipline-specific or course-specific writing concern.
  • Assist in peer editing groups.
  • Work directly with your class on a writing assignment.

Student Resource – we are available to your students for any writing needs, such as:

  • Lab reports
  • Research papers
  • Compositions
  • Theater reviews
  • White papers
  • Theses
  • Abstracts

Handouts – we provide dozens of free handouts for download with information, including but not limited to

  • All commonly used citation styles

Custom Faculty Workshops

In addition to the above resources, we can help you by offering workshops designed specifically for faculty who are interested in new ideas for crafting curriculum, clarifying expectations, identifying problem areas, and understanding student anxiety about writing.
