SJSU senior Thon Majak Deng spent more than a decade in refugee camps in Ethiopia, Kenya and Sudan before getting resettled in the United States in 2001. An associate producer of the Emmy-nominated documentary “The Lost Boys of Sudan,” Deng also co-founded Coalition of the Willing, a nonprofit organization that raises funds and awareness about the ongoing needs in southern Sudan.
