Over the 30-plus years that Karen Reynolds taught science methods of teaching in the College of Education, she inspired thousands of student teachers to teach science in elementary schools. One important part of her inspiration was her ability to help student teachers appreciate that science is about mystery and discovery, even more than it is about known truths. Her teaching methods offered students daily hands-on projects to discover for themselves the exciting phenomena of the natural world.
