SJSU Biology Information Competency

Information Competency in the Biology Curriculum

The Biological Sciences Department and the SJSU Library have been working in collaboration to integrate information competency learning outcomes into the Biology program at SJSU. Objectives of the project, which is funded by the CSU Information Competency Initiative, include:

Assess how information competency is currently taught in the Biology curriculum
Articulate information competency objectives for the program as a whole and for key courses
Build support for information competency within the department
Facillitate the sharing of successful information competence teaching strategies and assignments across the department
