CSEA is California's largest state employee organization, representing more than 140,000 state and university workers, managers, supervisors and retirees at the bargaining table and before the California Legislature and key state departments and agencies.

CSEA has four divisions or affiliates, one of which is CSUEU, representing California State University employees in bargaining units 2, 5, 7, and 9.
