Research Paper Option

 

            Select a single day before 1970, and write a paper (of about five pages) on the cultural happenings on that day as reported in newspapers, magazines or other sources.  In preparing your paper it is important that you:

 

            [1]  Develop a theme/thesis applicable to selected events of that day.

            [2]  Refer to historical sources in addition to the newspapers and magazines--

                        place your event (or events) in historical perspective.

            [3]  Write clear, interesting prose.

[4]  Provide proper documentation {footnotes and bibliography] using Turabian as  

           your guide.
