Petitions

Due to the shelter in place order there are some changes in drop/withdrawal petitions. Please read the instructions carefully. 
 
Please note that withdrawal petitions will be honored based on the date of the first signature, not on the date we receive them or process them.
 
Students are notified of approval or denial by MySJSU message (not email).

 

Drop and Withdrawal Petitions may be completed using DocuSign with the final approval email being academic.advising@sjsu.edu. Petitions may also be scanned and submitted to that email.

Undergraduate Late Drop/Withdrawal

-Summer Session 2020 

Students who are petitioning to drop their Summer 2020 course(s) must obtain the required signatures before submitting their petition(s).

 

Required signatures for late drop are as follows:

-Instructor 

-Associate Dean for the College of Professional and Global Education (CPGE) 

 

Spring 2020 Undergraduate Petition for Course Drop (DocuSign)

Undergraduate students can use the DocuSign option for the course drop petition.DocuSign gives students the option to obtain their instructor's signature electronically when petitioning to drop one course during the current or previous semesters. Please use a separate petition for each course you wish to drop.

Spring 2020 Undergraduate Petition for Withdrawal (from ALL courses) [PDF]

Undergraduates use this petition to drop ALL of your courses during the current or previous semesters. Please use a separate petition for each semester of courses you wish to drop. If you are enrolled in only one class, you must use this petition to drop it. 

We are working on getting a PowerForm up for DocuSign for withdrawals. In the meantime, please send your withdrawal petition to fao@sjsu.edu and note the next person needed to sign (Major Advisor or Department Chair or Associate Dean for your major) in your email asking Financial Aid to forward to that person.

 

Graduate students should use the petition found on the GAPE website. 

 

Undergraduate Change of Major

Use these forms to change or declare a major or minor. To change your major to undeclared, fill out the form and bring it to AARS to meet with an advisor and obtain the required signatures.
