ASD Kick Off Welcome Event

Join us live for our virtual Admitted Spartan Days (ASD) Kickoff Welcome Event! Get a "sneak peek" into what ASD has in store for you and your family during our two weeks of virtual events! We will have a live welcome and Spartan Leaders Panel featuring our Head Football Coach, our Vice President of Student Affairs, and our President of Associated Students and hear why now is the time to be a SJSU Spartan! We also have a special performance by our SJSU Marching Band to set the Spartan Spirit. This event will help to kick off ASD and get you set on your path to joining the Spartan Community.

Welcome from the College of Social Sciences

Dr. Walt Jacobs, Dean of the College of Social Sciences, introduces the college’s 12 departments and articulates the importance of technology, innovation and personal interactions with faculty. He will highlight the opportunities for internships and careers as well as how graduates from their college excel in communication, critical thinking skills and problem solving. Dean Jacobs will explain how students learn to think more analytically about themselves and the world in the College of Social Sciences. Undeclared College Welcome and Open House

Please join us, Academic Advising and Retention Services (AARS), at 11:30 am on Saturday morning, for our second event of the day; a welcome from Dr. Thalia Anagnos, the Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education. Dr. Anagnos will be welcoming our Undeclared and Undeclared Pre-Nursing students to SJSU! Learn about academic and student life opportunities, advising resources, and get updates from AARS (your student success center) Associate Director Michael Randle.

College of Professional and Global Education, College Welcome and Academic Presentation

The College of Professional and Global Education warmly welcomes admitted students and their families to join us for our Admitted Spartan Days College Welcome, followed by our academic presentation from the School of Information - BS in Information Science and Data Analytics.

 

Explore the broad variety of programs and services delivered by our college to the Spartan community. We have a full schedule of program presentations and virtual activities for you to engage in throughout this two-week event. During the College of Health and Human Sciences' Welcome Event, you will have the opportunity to meet with the dean and associate dean to learn more about the college and our academic programs. You will also meet with department chairs and directors during breakout sessions to learn more about your major, courses and major requirements, and ask specific questions to learn more about academic programs. Dr Shannon Miller, Dean of the College of Humanities and the Arts, highlights the programs within her college as well as the faculty and their commitment to student success. The Hammer Theatre, Borderlands, student internships and centers within the college will be featured. Charles  W Davidson College of Engineering Welcome Event

 

 

Dr. Sheryl Ehrman, Dean of the Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering, will describe our 13 disciplines in the college which also includes 6,500 students and more than 400 faculty and staff. She will share how the college provides hands-on experience to students and prepares engineers who will contribute to our rapidly changing world. Dean Ehrman will feature several recent graduates and their accomplishments, highlighting that Silicon Valley employs more entry-level engineers from SJSU than any other university in the country.
