Students @ SJSUClass in sessiontech ed sat award

Welcome to SJSU Aerospace Engineering!

SJSU's AE Department offers an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science (BSAE) and a Master of Science (MSAE) in Aerospace Engineering. Our hands-on curriculum and small class sizes give students the best opportunity to learn and interact with our faculty. Learn more about Aerospace Engineering at SJSU.

Where Do Our Alumni Work?

Our graduates go on to work for world-class companies, government agencies and engineering services, specializing in research, aerodynamics, navigation, thermal protection, flight testing, stress analysis and so much more:Alumni Companies

What Do Aerospace Engineers Do?

Aerospace Engineers research, design, and develop high-speed transportation vehicles such as: airplanes, spacecraft, space stations, planetary vehicles, and space probes.  Approximately half work in the aerospace industry in world-class companies like Boeing, Lockheed-Martin and Cessna, 15% work for government agencies such as NASA or the Department of Defense, and the rest work in engineering services, research, testing and navigation functions. Aerospace engineers also work in industries not necessarily associated with aerospace, such as automotive industries, where they work to improve the aerodynamics of vehicles.

Who Should Apply?

Do you love aircraft and spacecraft? Are you good at math and science? Have you ever wondered how airplanes work or how missions to other planets are possible? If so, consider an undergraduate degree in aerospace engineering. It’s arguably one of the most challenging degrees you can get, and also one of the most rewarding.

If you already hold an undergraduate degree, and you want to take your knowledge to the next level, take a look at our Master of Science degree program. Our graduate program caters to working professionals with evening classes and a practical, project-based curriculum.

Vibrant Student Community

Our students participate in and run a variety of on-campus clubs where they can socialize and learn. Start here:

Commitment to STEM in our Community

SJSU AE students are committed to sharing their love of science, technology, engineering and math with kids of all ages in Silicon Valley. Teachers, troop leaders and community members are invited to request an SJSU AE student speaker.
