SAGE Scholars Program: Teaching Credential and MA
Spartan Accelerated Graduate Education (SAGE) Scholars Program in African American Studies and Teacher Education (Credential and Masters) is in
place and ready to go for Fall 2022.
Students who complete this program will:
1. Earn a BA in African American Studies (year 4)
2. Be certified to teach secondary level Social Studies (single subject)
3. Earn a Masters of Arts in Teaching (year 5)
This is an exciting time to be a social studies secondary teacher with an academic
background in African American Studies. There are plans to launch Advanced Placement (AP) African American Studies courses in high schools across the
country. Students who complete this degree program will be highly marketable in school
districts across the country.
