Armando Ayala is an applied anthropologist and practicing user experience (UX) researcher. He is currently a senior UX researcher at Facebook, where he does foundational and tactical research for the Social Impact org. His work focuses on building products and services that empower people to make the world a better place, and has worked on launching products such as Facebook's Mentorship and Community Help tools. He has experience working at a variety of tech companies, including startups (TRNIO), UX agencies (UEGroup), and large tech firms (Google and Facebook). His areas of interest consist of design research, design anthropology, product strategy, and qualitative UX research methods. He is an alumnus of SJSU and holds a B.A. in psychology with a cultural anthropology minor, and a Master's in applied anthropology from the university.
