Associated Student Government manages the operations of the corporation; while, the Board of Directors is the official body which advocates for the entire SJSU student body comprised of over 35,000 students.

Nominate yourself or a fellow Spartan for an A.S. 55 Award! This is a prestigous award given to students who have shown exemplary leadership and community service to the SJSU community.

The government structure includes committees such as the Finance Committee, Student Elections Commission and the Academic Affairs Committee. The Board appoints student representatives to a number of university-wide committees such as the University Library Board, Undergraduate Studies Committee and the Institutional Review Board. Student Government also provides funding for Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs), confers the annual A.S. 55 awards to outstanding student leaders, and provides thousands of dollars in scholarships to students each year.
