Beethoven's Chamber Music International Symposium
April 30 - May 2, 2020
Featuring the Takács Quartet
Please join us for what promises to be an exciting three-day symposium at The Ira F. Brilliant Center for Beethoven Studies, SJSU, that will bring together scholars and performers, including the famed Takács Quartet, for talks, lecture-recitals, and performances on Beethoven's chamber music. While some of these works have maintained an undisputed place in the canon almost since their premieres, recent research continues to offer fresh perspectives, particularly on understanding them in their wider eighteenth and nineteenth century contexts in this anniversary year. The Takács Quartet will perform Beethoven's beloved Quartet in A Minor, Opus 132, and the Mendelssohn Quartet in A Minor, Opus 13, on May 1 at San Jose State University.
Schedule and registration information coming soon!
Location: The Ira F. Brilliant Center for Beethoven Studies, 5th Floor, Rm. 580, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library, 150 E. San Fernando St, San José, CA 95112
