A La Carte Career Services
A la carte services may be purchased by SJSU alumni and affiliates with or without a membership.

Job Search Club Join SJSU's Alumni Job Search Club to build momentum in your job search. Four-week sessions start every fall, spring, and summer semester.  $30
Career assessment Complete a recommended career assessment, explore and reflect on career possibilities, and identify potential next steps. Career assessment must be combined with the purchase of one 60-minute career counseling appointment. $20

The Fine Print

  • Maximum of one initial career consultation per calendar year
  • Maximum of three career counseling appointments per calendar year
  • Memberships are good for one calendar year. All alumni memberships purchased prior to August 2020 will retain Basic Membership benefits for the remainder of the membership term.
  • A la carte services are available to Affiliate Members

To join, subscribe online and select the Career Center Alumni Membership level or a la carte career service you'd like to purchase. Be ready to provide your 9-digit SJSU student ID number. If you can't remember your student ID number, please contact careerhelp@sjsu.edu for assistance. Credit- or debit-card payments only, please. 

SJSU Students on Leave and Other Cal State Alumni

Purchase a Career Center Affiliate Membership for access to the same benefits as the SJSU Alumni Basic Membership except on-campus recruiting (career fairs, single-employer events, and on-campus interviews). Annual cost: $25

Some recruiting events, such as single-employer info sessions or employer days, indicate the employer's admission criteria and require advance registration. Consult SJSU Handshake for event registration requirements. 

Don't Forget:

Remember to bring the following items to access services and events: a photo ID, a student ID (for recent grads within a year of graduation) or proof of your Career Center membership (membership card, Alumni Association card, or an email confirming your current membership from the Career Center).

Community Career Resources

Silicon Valley offers many career resources that are available to the general community, most of which provide free or low-cost services.

CareerOneStop is your pathway to career success. Find tools to help job seekers, students, business, and career professionals. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor. Find a CareerOneStop near you.

NOVA is a nonprofit, federally-funded employment and training agency that provides customer-focused workforce development services.

SJPL Works is a network of resources available through the San Jose Public Library, providing work and conference spaces, career and industry research tools, and educational and networking events.  

Silicon Valley Career Counselors is a list of Bay Area counselors that see clients in private practice. Career counseling, coaching, resume writing, and job search support are typical services offered by these counselors.

Work 2 Future, the Silicon Valley Workforce Investment Network, operates three One-Stop Career Centers in the areas of San Jose, Campbell and South County. Workshops, job listings and career advising programs are available through Work 2 Future One Stops.
