Get help launching your career.
Alumni, within a year of graduation, maintain access to:
- Career center apps: SJSU Handshake job board, Focus2, SJSU² (alumni-to-alumni connections), and Big Interview.*
- 1:1 career coaching (up to 3 virtual appointments per year). Email your counselor to schedule an appointment.
- Career Center guides that provide top tips on resume/cover letter writing, job/internship search, interviewing, etc.
*To access any of the Career Center apps listed above, continue to use your SSO (SJSUOne ID and password).

Initial Consultation
Contact carrie.mcknight@sjsu.edu to schedule a free, initial career consultation (15-minute) to form basic career-development
goals and identify a starting course of action.

The Fine Print
- Maximum of one initial 15-minute career consultation per calendar year
- Maximum of three virtual career-counseling appointments per calendar year
- Memberships are good for one calendar year. All alumni memberships purchased prior to August 2020 will retain Career Center Basic Membership benefits for the remainder of the membership term.

Career Fairs
Due to anticipated limited capacity, some virtual career fairs will be open only to current SJSU students. For details, please visit sjsu.joinhandshake.com/events.
Other Recruiting Events
Some recruiting events, such as single-employer info sessions or employer days, indicate employer-defined admission criteria, may be open to alumni, and may require advance registration. Consult SJSU Handshake for event access and registration requirements.
Don't Forget:
Remember to bring the following items to access services and events: a photo ID, a student ID (for recent grads within a year of graduation) or proof of your Career Center Membership (membership card, Alumni Association card (for past combined memberships), or an email confirming your current membership from the Career Center).

NOVA is a nonprofit, federally-funded employment and training agency that provides customer-focused workforce development services.
SJPL Works is a network of resources available through the San Jose Public Library, providing work and conference spaces, career and industry research tools, and educational and networking events.
Silicon Valley Career Counselors is a list of Bay Area counselors that see clients in private practice. Career counseling, coaching, resume writing, and job search support are typical services offered by these counselors.
Work 2 Future, the Silicon Valley Workforce Investment Network, operates three One-Stop Career Centers in the areas of San Jose, Campbell and South County. Workshops, job listings and career advising programs are available through Work 2 Future One Stops.
