BA in Chicana and Chicano Studies

The Chicana and Chicano Studies major is an interdisciplinary program of study that can work well as a double major or as a stand alone major with a related minor.  The degree offers student's the flexibility to immerse themselves in a general overview of the discipline or to focus their studies on one of three areas of emphasis; cultural and creative expression, institutions and community engagement, or transnationalism and global relations. 

Minor in Chicana and Chicano Studies

The minor in Chicana and Chicano Studies is a unique interdisciplinary program of study that supplements any undergraduate major by providing a well-rounded introduction to the Chicanx-Latinx community, including its history, culture and social, political and economic context. The coursework supports major programs in economics, business, politics, culture, education, personnel management, marketing, psychology/counseling, community development, public administration and fine arts.

Undergraduate students may combine a minor in Chicana and Chicano Studies with any major to enhance their educational experience. You may want to meet with our undergraduate advisor about your options and ideas to determine how a CCS minor will fit into your program of study.
