Research Opportunities

Hands raised to participate

Become a Research Participant

Our dedicated Child and Adolescent Development (ChAD) faculty and students are actively conducting research projects and seeking research participants for their studies. Your participation in research is incredibly valuable in contributing new knowledge about child and adolescent development and informing the work of professionals who work with children, adolescents and families.

Participant Rights

Your participation in research through ChAD is completely voluntary. You can refuse to participate in the entire study or any part of the study without any negative effect on your relations with San Jose State University. You also have the right to skip any question you do not wish to answer.

Each study will present you with a consent form. This consent form is not a contract. It is a written explanation of what will happen during the study if you decide to participate. You will not waive any rights if you choose not to participate, and there is no penalty for stopping your participation in the study.

At the end of each study, researchers will ask for your email address, so you can receive a certificate of completion. This contact information will be deleted before any data analyses begin so as to protect your identity.
